Why I love my job!

Today I had another new patient request an appointment as she was in agony. Typical lower back pain, radiating into her leg. Typical person, under a lot of stress, lots of deadlines looming, and her back gives out under the pressure. It has been happening on and off for 15 or so years. On looking into her health history, which includes accidents and falls, it turns out, that about 20 years ago, she stepped off a bunk bed onto a chair that then gave way, which meant that one of her legs took the full force. which leg? Well funny that, the leg that is now playing up. And has it been 15 yeards for real? probably not, most people underestimate how long they have been suffering with something.

Why has nobody else made the link? Why indeed. But the good news is, the link has been made, and we can start to deal with the root cause of this lady's 15 year old problem. Pelvis is realigned, as part of the McTimoney Chiropractic treatment, along with the lumbar vertebrae, that's lower back to most people, and lo and behold, she feels better! I Love my job!

She is in an acute phase, that is within 6 weeks of a flare up, so she is booked back in for Friday! Will let you know how she gets on.

National Back Care Week

Well it is here and West FM have my iDeal on this coming Thursday. You can get the first treatment and Consultation for £25, if you are one of the first 50 to sign up for it. Do you think that Chiropractic is all about treating bad backs? If so, take a look at http://www.joyofchiropractic.co.uk/ and read how Chiropractic can have an effect on your health. I call it "Dentistry for the Spine" because we are all happy to go and see a dentist every 6 months or so. We don't wait until we have toothache. The same should be said for the spine, which houses one of the most important systems of the body, the nervous system. Every action of the body is controlled by a nerve stimulus, acting at some point to relay the message along the nerve. Chiropractic can have a profound effect on your health.

So do yourself a favour this National back care Week, and get along to your local McTimoney Chiropractor.

Have health

Joy of Networking Meeting

What a wonderful bunch of people I had the pleasure of meeting over breakfast this morning. It was a small elite group, and well worth getting up at 6 am for! Thanks to Martin McLachlan for his piece of advice re West FM radio and their iDeals on Thursday mornings. He said that it had been very good for his business, so I am giving it a go. I got straight back and looked up the site and dropped them an email. Within 2 hours they had telephoned me and made an appointment to come and see me to discuss details. So as they say, "Watch this space", or should I say "listen to the airwaves" on West FM.

October Breast Health Awareness Month

October is traditionally known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I prefer to call it Breast Health Awareness Month. Why? Because I beleive that what you "put out there" is what you'll get, so by putting the word out there, you will attract it, by putting the word Health "out there" Health is what you will achieve. Mother Theresa was once asked why she did not participate in anti-war demonstrations. She said "I would never do that, but as soon as there is a pro-peace I shall be there. Mother Theresa knew the power of words.

Although this Awareness campaign has very little to do with Chiropractic, I would like to take this opportunity to say what i am doing to help support it. On Monday 3rd October, I will be in Curves, Ayr, as part of their "Pamper day". I will be available to do FREE spine checks, and offer advice as a McTimoney Chiropractor, as to what you can do to help yourself, to maintain your health.

I came across this article a short while ago, and thought it relevant to October, so will share it with you now.

Getting started

Who would ever have thought that I would ever find myself Blogging? But thanks to Business Gateway and their business networking group in Kilmarnock last night, I am ready to give it a go.

I love my job as a McTimoney Chiropractor, and have been doing it for 14 years now. I love the way that is has an impact on people's lives. People that have suffered for years with pain and discomfort, now feeling so much better, and able to get on with their lives, doing what they like to do. Realising for the first time in their life what "healthy" really feels like.
